Laharl |
General Age: 1313 years Date of Birth: Unknown Gender: Male Species: Half demon, half human Dimension: Disgaea Appearance Link; link Laharl looks like a mere boy, dispite being over a thousand years old. His hair is blue and unkept with two long strands on the top of his head that stick up and curl back almost like a bug's antennae. His eyes are sharp and colored an intimidating shade of blood red. He is small with pointed ears and looks skinny or almost even frail. He also has pointed fangs and pale skin. Clothing-wise, he doesn't like to wear much. He always has two gold bracers on his wrists and around his ankles, along with one around his neck, but the one on his neck is hidden by a bright red scarf which almost seems like a part of him. (Hint: It actually is, but it can be removed like a normal scarf. It would still act as a part of him, even when removed, though.) He wears red shorts with a thick black belt and never seems to wear a shirt. His shoes are almost like boots and are colored red like his scarf and pants. After his death, he is ressurected as a prinny to pay for his sin. As a prinny he retains his trademark hair style, as well as his red eyes and scarf. Other than the before-mentioned exceptions, he looks like a normal prinny. Personality Laharl is stubborn, arrogant, short-tempered, and self-centered. He must always have things his way, and will use force if necessary. He believes himself to be the strongest thing alive and will stop at nothing to prove it. He hates anything having to do with love and kindness (or anything generally positive,) and can be hurt when someone says something positive. He also reacts poorly to heavily-chested girls, (as in they make him physically sick.) He does seem to get over these weaknesses later on, though. (Mostly.) Although he likes to call himself evil, he never actually does anything that "evil." In fact, although he would never admit to it, he is actually rather soft. For those he likes and hangs around it tends to be rather obvious, though. Likes

Family Mother: Gwen (deceased) Father: King Krichevskoy (presumably deceased) Other: Vesuvio (uncle, alive); Yasurl (aunt, alive); Shas (cousin, alive); Kira (cousin, alive) History Laharl was born to the demon king of the netherworld and his wife, a human witch who went to the netherworld to study. His parents loved him and showed him kindness, hoping that one day he would understand and spread it throughout the hearts of his kingdom. Their hopes were shattered, though, when he suddenly became very ill. The illness would have killed him, had it not been for his mother. Though the king begged her not to, she gave up her own life for the life of her son. Though the young prince lived, his mother's death struck him hard, and he locked away all feelings of love. The king was helpless as his son began to hate him, refusing his kindness at every turn. One day, in an attempt to take the crown, a demon poisoned the king and his son. King Krichevskoy supposedly died that day, but Laharl managed to survive, simply falling into a deep sleep. He was awoken two years later by a vassal of the late king who's name is Etna. Later, while Laharl is in the process of regaining his reputation and title as new king of the netherworld, they run into an angel trainee by the name of Flonne, who was supposedly sent to assassinate the king, but found Laharl instead. Flonne decides to follow them, thinking that demons had to feel love in some way or another and that she would find it. Together Laharl, Flonne, and Etna regain the Demon Tome and Laharl finally takes up the title of overlord. Immediately after, the humans of earth launch an assault on the netherworld, only to be completely ruined by the prince, who is now overlord. Confused as to why Celestia, home of the angels, was helping the humans, Flonne tells Laharl and Etna that she is returning to Celestia. Laharl and Etna insist that they go with her and she agrees. However, their trip is interrupted. The prinnies, having paid for their sins, marched to an alter in the Lunar Snowfield, their souls being lifted to the red moon so that they can be reborn again. Laharl, outraged that they would do such a thing without his permission, attempts to stop them. However, when a red prinny interferes, it manages to stop the young overlord through reasoning. Later it turns out that the red prinny is his mother, but nothing can be done as her soul is lifted to the red moon, having paid for her sin. The sin of giving up her own life. Still determined to find out why the angels were helping the humans invade the netherworld, they finally reached Celestia. The angelic traitor who had helped the humans was punished, but by helping Laharl gain the title of overlord and allowing others to be hurt, Flonne was to be punished, as well. As a final request, she asked that Laharl and Etna be forgiven for their sins, and she gave her pendant to the young overlord. As her punishment, she was to forever be a flower. Laharl, believing that the angel trainee had done nothing worth her punishment, was infuriated by the Seraph. While in his outrage, he killed the Seraph and nearly destroyed all of Celestia. He then learns that it was all a test, though, one which he had failed. If he had spared the Seraph, then Flonne would have been restored, but that was not the case. He begins to cry, saying that he doesn't want love because it hurts him. Then, without warning, he made up his mind and took his own life to save the angel's. In doing this, Flonne became a fallen angel and the young overlord was turned into a prinny, much like his mother, to pay for the sin of giving up his own life. |
