Rin Okumura |
General Age: 15 years Date of Birth: Unknown (Assumed Dec. 27th) Gender: Male Species: Half demon, half human Dimension: Blue Exorcist Demon Familiar: Kuro the Cat Sith (link) Appearance Link; link; link; link Rin, before he awoke to his demonic power, looked like a perfectly normal human boy. He was born with black hair, which seems to have a blueish tint to it, and blue eyes. He was average in size, but always seemed a little pale. He often had some kind of bandage on him, as well. There were a few changes to his appearance after the 'incident,' though. For starters, his ears and canine teeth became pointed and he gained a fur-tufted tail the same color as his hair. He carries a sword in a sheath and sleeve with a strap around his shoulder pretty much all the time. When the sword is unsheathed it becomes engulfed in blue flames while also releasing some of his demonic power, which was sealed within it. He can show come of his power without the sword, though, becoming engulfed in blue flames or directing them with pure willpower. However, two flames, similar to horns which sit atop his head, always seem brighter than the rest. When his sword is unsheathed his pupils become red and his pointed ears become longer. When fully consumed by the power of the flames, all of his teeth become sharp and his irises bend into a spiral-like shape. Personality Rin is good at heart, but finds it hard to keep his cool. He's supportive and caring towards those he cares about, and can be very protective of them. However, Rin is also immature and sometimes blatantly stupid or irrational. He's not very responsible, especially when it comes to things such as school, but he can be easy enough to inspire in order to work a bit harder than usual. Granted, it might not last long which his seemingly short attention span, but it's better than most of the time. One last thing to note is that he doesn't like the fact that he's related to the demon of all demons, and hopes to one day kill his true father. Likes

Family Mother: Yuri Egin Father: Satan Siblings: Yukio Okumura (younger twin brother) Other: Half-brother to the Eight Demon Kings History Rin and his younger twin, Yukio, were born the children of Satan. They were to be executed the day they entered the world, but after their mother died due to childbirth, the two sent to kill them agreed to secretly keep them alive. They sealed Rin's demonic power inside a demon-slaying blade named Kurikara and one of them, an exorcist by the name of Shirō, decided to adopt and raise them as his own. As a child, many feared Rin for his temper and inhuman strength, often calling him a demon child. He would hurt the other children around him in his anger, and usually the only one who could calm him down was his adoptive father, Shirō. He was close friends with his brother, though, often helping him and protecting him from bullies. His temper never got any better as time passed. As a teenager he would get into fights on a daily basis, often coming home with injuries. He rarely attended school and couldn't seem to hold a job, no matter how hard he tried. Meanwhile his brother was highly successful and went off to attend a prestigious high school. One day Rin began to see things which he couldn't explain. While trying to figure out what they were, he realized that no one else could see them. He ran into three boys which he had gotten into a fight with once, noticing that the things seemed to swarm around the leader of their little 'gang.' They got him to follow them into the backstreets of the town, explaining that they didn't want him giving them a bad name and offering him money to keep him quiet. However, as the head boy was explaining he insulted Rin's brother, and he instinctively reacted with violence. He was held down by two of them soon after and the leader began to threaten him with a red-hot metal rod. In his fear, he awoke to some of his demonic power, bursting into blue flames which scared off the two that were holding him. However, the leader of the group revealed himself to be a demon and tried to take Rin to his real father, Satan. Before the demon could, Shirō arrived and exorcised the demon from the boy before fleeing with Rin. Hordes of demons began to chase after them as they rushed back to their home, the monastery. Shirō protected Rin and meanwhile explained his origins. They survived the hordes and arrived at the chapel at twilight. They, along with the other exorcists staying at the chapel, set up barriers to protect against the mass of demons likely to come after Rin by nightfall. As night took over, Shirō gave Rin the blade which held the rest of his demonic powers, telling him to keep it safe and run away. However, he was stubborn and refused to leave. When Shirō reminded Rin that the demons were after him and him alone, Rin took to the offensive and began to argue with him, thinking that he just wanted to get rid of him. Shirō, shocked by the accusation, was suddenly possessed by Satan. He was literally the only one unable to be possessed before then, but the argument with Rin mentally weakened him, leaving him vulnerable. He had planned to drag Rin to Gehenna, the world in which demons live, and opened a gate there to do just that. However, for a brief moment, Shirō regained control of his body and stabbed himself, sacrificing himself to save Rin. He fell into the gateway and Rin attempted to save him, but they both began sinking into Gehenna. In desperation, Rin unsheathed the blade and released his demonic powers. He saved his adoptive father from the gate and destroyed it, but Shirō was already dead. Not wanting anyone else to die, he became a student at the same school as his brother, hoping to train and one day become an exorcist like his adoptive father. For a while he was able to keep his demonic heritage a secret, but eventually it was revealed as he lost control of himself to the power of the blue flames. Again, the order of the exorcists, the True Cross Order, were ready and willing to execute him. However, he was given a chance to prove himself simply because he could be used as a weapon against Satan. Still threatened with death should he not prove useful, he struggles to be accepted and prove to others that he is good. |
