Terence Volatore |
General Age: 19 years old Date of Birth: March 18th Gender: Male Species: Human Dimension: The Bloodstone Jester Nickname(s): "Bird-boy" and/or "Uccello-ragazzo" Appearance Link; link; link; link Terence has a rather scrawny body shape. His face, although it is unlikely to ever be seen, has soft edges and pale blue eyes. His hair is pure white. It's also messy and curly, and looks as though he might have cut it himself, as it's rather choppy. His face is always covered by a mask that's half red and half black. On the black side there is a bloodstone in the shape of a tear embedded at the corner of the eye. The red side is decorated with lots of white. It also has a wide smile carved into it. There's also a jester's collar-thing sewn into his neck which matches his mask. He usually wears clothes to match it and always has some kind of knife on him. Personality Terence is mostly friendly. He likes 'punny' jokes and pranking others, but absolutely hates being made fun of. If anyone annoys him too much he has a bad habit of killing them and making their faces into masks for revenge. It takes quite a bit of effort to push him over that edge, though. If he is around anyone he considers a friend he tends to talk a bit more and is rather protective of them. He also seems to like birds quite a bit. He realizes that his appearance tends to scare others, and likes to use this as a pranking tool; but he himself has grown to like it. Likes

Family Mother: Louise Volatore Father: Frederico Volatore Siblings: Sarafina Volatore Other: N/A History Terence was born in North America to a normal family of American-Italians, along with his younger sister, Sarafina. Both of his parents worked hard to sustain their family, but they still had to live in a lower-income neighborhood to get by. This neighborhood wasn't particularly the best one around, but they didn't have much of a choice. Terence was known to be a bit of a joker, but his friends knew he was only messing around. When he was 16 years old he was kidnapped. The man that had kidnapped him was obviously insane, and thought he was a trouble-making scourge bound only to taint the world the longer he was allowed to roam free. He sewed the mask onto Terence's face and tortured him for almost two years before he managed to escape. He didn't know how to get home, and most of the people he asked for help thought he wasn't even human. Eventually he found someone willing to help him, but they didn't do anything other than give him a place to stay for a while and call the police. However, before the police had even arrived, the same man from before found him and captured him again. The man had changed his location and enforced his security so that Terence wouldn't escape this time. He was tortured and held prisoner for another year before he managed to escape again. However, by this time he was beyond scarred and was quickly losing his grip on sanity. Paranoid that the man would find him again if he ran away, he sneaked into the kitchen, grabbed one of the knives, and stabbed the man multiple times in his sleep. At first, he was horrified at what he had done, and simply cowered in the corner of the room, staring at the body. Eventually he began to feel proud, though, and started to think that he had been too kind in killing him. Although he was already long dead, he made a mask out of his face in irony of what the man had done to Terence. The man's hideout, a supposedly abandoned house with seven rooms, including a basement, was nice, despite the mess. Terence, deciding he couldn't go home now, cleaned it up and decided to take up residence there. He burned the man's body and buried anything left. He earned money doing whatever he could, and when that wasn't enough, stole whatever food, drink, or clothing he needed. He befriended three crows that had decided to roost in his attic and now they tend to follow him around. The birds gave him company, but he missed his family. He was 18 now, and he began to grow curious as to how his younger sister, Sarafina, was doing. Last he saw her she was only two years old. Curiosity getting the better of him, he found his way home. He sneakily peered in through windows and saw his parents asleep in their room and then his sister, awake, but in bed. He hadn't been expecting her to be awake and had to duck out of sight when she noticed him. She approached the window and looked out it. She didn't see anything, but just to make sure, she gave the glass a quiet knock. He flinched at the sound, and she just barely saw his feet through the branches of a bush outside her window. She didn't seem afraid, though, as she knocked again, a little harder this time. He fled, but came back after waiting for one day. One of the crows followed him this time. Sarafina was still curious and waited to see if the mysterious person would return. He noticed her a little too late and had nowhere to hide. Seeing his face-- or rather, the mask --for the first time startled her, but she didn't, or maybe couldn't scream. Hoping to seem friendly, he gave a small wave, and she responded by seemingly calming a bit before waving back. He didn't want to get too close, having seen her earlier fear, and stood frozen as the crow flew over to the window. It landed and gave the glass a small tap out of confusion and curiosity. He waved his arm at it in aggravation, and it flew back to him, at which point he ran away again. He didn't return until a few months later. The same crow came with him for this third time. He wasn't sure whether to be relieved or disappointed when he saw that she was already asleep. A loud peck on the window startled both him and his sister, and he was forced to take cover again. She noticed the crow and approached the window, expecting the bird's supposed 'master' to be there, but didn't see him. With a bit of difficulty, she got the window open and began talking to the bird as if it were a human, asking it why it woke her up and telling it that it wasn't very nice for doing so. Terence tried to remain still and silent, but a slight slip of the hand sent him falling onto his side, and his unknowing sister jumped in surprise. She fell silent, as the mask he wore tended to frighten her, but after a moment she gave a tentative greeting. Panicked, he ran away. The crow followed shortly after, and the girl shut her window with the help of a stepping stool. Again, he didn't return for a few months. She was five when he finally showed up again, this time with two crows in tow. He hid behind a tree, uncertain of what exactly he was trying to accomplish, while the first crow quickly flew up to the window and began tapping. The second crow that had followed sat in the branches of the tree and looked between Terence and the other crow continuously. Sarafina was once again awoken by the crow. She looked around and opened the window before calling out, saying that 'she knew he was there.' Making up his mind, he approached the window. She didn't seem afraid anymore as he approached. She greeted him and tried to ask his name, at which point he answered that he didn't have one, not wanting her to know his real name. She then gave him the nickname, 'Uccello-ragazzo,' or 'Bird-boy,' because of the crows that always announced his arrival. They spoke for a bit before Terence decided he should leave. He still visits once every few weeks, sometimes months. He has become protective of his little sister in that time, and has promised to protect her. |
