Irine |
General Age: 34 years Date of Birth: May 19th Gender: Female Species: Mutated human Dimension: Apex Disaster AU/AT Appearance Link Irine used to be a completely normal human girl. She had shoulder-length, straight, black hair that curled at the tips, and dark blue eyes. She always wore khaki pants, her favorite gray converse boots, and a shirt usually of or with her favorite color, green. After the disaster, her appearance changed drastically. Her hair turned gray and lost it's curl, as well as grew longer over time. Her skin paled into a sickly, almost white, color, and her nails became thicker and formed points, looking more like claws than actual nails after some time. Her eyes also became pitch black, and she grew four sharp fangs, two on the top, and two on the bottom. Her clothes are also tattered and ripped in places. Nineteen years later, she once again had a change in appearance, although it wasn't quite as drastic as it was after the disaster. This is mostly because, despite her age, she doesn't look a day over sixteen. Her hair has been cut short, and her eyes are no longer black. Instead, the blackness hovers near the edges of her eyes, slowly shifting there like clouds, though it will change back under certain circumstances. Although her irises haven't changed, her pupils now glow white. Her 'claws' have also been cut short, but the tips are covered in dried blood. She's found less battered clothes to wear, but she's kept her pants and boots. Under a sleeveless black hoodie and short-sleeved emerald green shirt, she wears a lime green shirt with sleeves so long that she uses them to hide her hands, and more importantly, her nails, whenever she can. Personality Irine used to be very cheerful, and rarely ever let things get her down. She would argue quite a bit, but always in a joking manner, never taking the arguments seriously. She could be very stubborn, though, if she wanted to be, and often somewhat selfish. However, she was kind at heart, and very loyal to those she cared about. After the disaster, she lost everything. She acted purely on an animalistic instinct, attacking anyone she saw. She was indifferent to who it was, and deaf to their words and even their screams. Over the nineteen years that followed the disaster, she began to regain some humanity. She still acted on instinct and attacked others, but only for food, as she didn't know a way around it. She was scared of pain and death, though, and when harmed she'd usually flee or revert to her more animalistic nature without meaning to do so. Eventually she became the person she is now. As it is, she's timid, but only because she fears pain and dying. Once she knows you won't cause her any harm, she opens up greatly. This is the closest she has ever come to being like her former self since the disaster. Whenever she reverts, accidental or not, her eyes become completely black once more. Likes

Family Mother: Unknown Father: Unknown Siblings: Unknown Other: Unknown History Irine was one of the last to be taken hostage by ApexCo before the disaster. Because of this, she didn't have as many mutations as some of the fallen, but she still lost herself after the disaster. For many years, it was as if she was sleepwalking. When she awoke, eighteen years had passed. She couldn't remember anything but the pain, which she feared having to go through once more. As far as she could tell, there weren't any other 'fallen' like her. They seemed to accept her as still being one of them, though, so she continued to live like one of them. One day, she ran across a stronghold. Over the years, there became fewer and fewer strongholds, but the ones that were still there grew to be enormous. Within, they had begun to cultivate the land, they had electricity, food, and water, and they were rebuilding society. Irine hadn't seen a stronghold since her 'awakening,' and grew curious. She and a small group of fallen slipped through a hole in the stronghold's defenses. They were found out almost immediately, and most of them were killed within the first hour. Irine and a few others escaped deeper into the stronghold, taking refuge in an abandoned building, but the hole they came through was quickly patched, leaving them trapped inside. It took a surprising amount of time for them to be found after that, but eventually they were. A small patrol searched the abandoned house after a report of an attack nearby. The other fallen attacked and were quickly killed, but Irine had decided to hide. When found, she immediately began to recall the pain she'd once felt, and in that moment, the blackness of her eyes receded, and she pleaded for them to have mercy on her. Confused and still running on adrenaline from the attack of the other fallen, the patrol was about to kill her anyway when one of the fighters stopped the others. With some convincing, they reluctantly took her captive. The fighter that had protected her from the others saw her as a hope to cure the other fallen, and spoke with her. After finding out she didn't remember anything, even her own name, he tried to give her one. He tried to name her 'Iris,' after a flower that once meant 'hope,' according to his mother, who had died in the disaster, but she didn't like it, so instead he named her 'Irine.' While she had slowly become friends with her savior, the other fighters distrusted her greatly, and many outright hated her. Though her friend tried to protect her, eventually the other fighters agreed that if she was going to stay in the stronghold, some things had to be done about the danger she posed to them. One of these things was cutting her claw-like nails. This turned out to be incredibly painful for her, and at one point she had to be gagged because she was deafening those around her, and eventually entirely restrained as she tried to attack the one causing her pain, who happened to be her friend. She also couldn't leave a certain area within the stronghold, and her friend, who she no longer trusted after he'd caused her so much pain, had to keep an eye on her if she left her room. |
